Acupunture for Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is characterized by chronic widespread musculoskeletal pain and associated symptoms, such as fatigue, joint stiffness, and sleep disturbance. No cure is known, and available treatments are only partially effective. Acupuncture significantly improves symptoms of pain, anxiety and fatigue. Research shows that as many as 90 percent of people with fibromyalgia turn to complementary and alternative medicine. Acupuncture, in particular, is a popular and effective treatment.
